“A lot of work was done to spread the wealth this offseason between increased pay back through the field, in both the nightly purse as well as our originally posted point fund. As a group we are extremely excited to be offering a more evenly distributed point fund across the top five positions, and hopefully it create a little extra incentive for some teams to commit to chasing the coveted Western PA Speedweek crown,” said speedweek director Tyler Beichner. “A special thank you goes out to every single one of our sponsors and supporters for continuing to step up and make this possible.”
The countdown is officially on with less than 80 days (79 to be exact) until the 2023 iteration kicks off at the recently revived Knox Raceway. One word comes to mind when evaluating this year’s five-race schedule: variety. Contrasting styles will be required each night to claim a spot near the front; from the flat one-third mile in Knox to the high-banked Monster Half-Mile in Pittsburgh…from there drivers will look to master the usually cushion-pounding Lernerville Speedway, the synonymously slick Sharon Speedway, and the hammer-down half-mile Tri City Raceway Park. The mixed schedule of track types is guaranteed to keep drivers on their toes, and produce some of the best racing action fans will see all summer!
