March 3, 2025 (Columbus, OH)…For the second consecutive year, Western PA Speedweek will host the renowned Jean Lynch Classic presented by Mosites Lynch Racing at Don Martin’s Lernerville Speedway . The Friday, May 30th event will pay $4,000 to win, $350 to start and offer additional incentives including quick time, hard charger and hard luck awards. The race also instantly returns as one of the marquee events of a Western PA Speedweek that will boast a $13,500 point fund along with other nightly and week-long awards.
As the matriarch of the Lynch family, Jean was a pioneer for women in racing with a resume to match. Her roots ran deep with national ties to tracks/organizations such as NASCAR, CART, Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Indy 500, the All Star Circuit of Champions, Ohio Sprint Speedweek, and much more. However, her love for racing never left the local racing scene as she could be found managing, promoting, and renting out tracks across the northeast. Jean’s lifelong contributions in sprint car racing were recognized in 2013 when she became an inductee into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame.
“We’re grateful for the opportunity to honor such an incredible woman and figure in racing, and equally thankful for the support of Mosites Lynch Racing, the Lynch Family, and Mosites Motorsports for allowing us to continue this tradition” said Tyler Beichner, director of Western PA Speedweek. Mosites Lynch Racing is embarking on their first attempt at a national tour as they will follow the High Limit Racing Series for the duration of the season.
Last summer, AJ Flick bested the 46-car field at Lernerville Speedway to claim the $4,000 winner’s check. His magnificent charge forward from the 10th starting spot culminated in the winning pass being completed on standout Canadian racer Jordan Poirier with just five laps to go. Poirier settled for runner-up in his Lernerville Speedway debut followed by Tim Shaffer, Dave Blaney and Sye Lynch.
