May 31, 2025 (Shippenville, PA)…Overnight and mid-morning rains and temperatures nearly 20 degrees below average season temperatures have forced Western PA Speedweek and Sharon Speedway officials to cancel Night #4 of Schaeffer’s Specialized Lubricants Western PA Speedweek presented by J.S. Bova Excavating. The event will not be rescheduled.
The Hartford, OH oval was bitten by the same luck just one week ago when they had to begrudgingly cancel one of two visits on the year by the prestigious World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series under nearly identical circumstances. Since then, the grounds at Sharon Speedway have received substantial rain on numerous occasions and the forecasted temperature was set to be even colder than it was last weekend.
Race teams and fans can now begin preparing for the Western PA Speedweek finale on Sunday night at Tri-City Raceway Park in Franklin, PA. The $3,500 to-win event will conclude what has become a weather-stricken week of racing in western Pennsylvania. Pit gates open at 2pm, grandstands open at 4pm. Hot laps are scheduled for 5:30pm with racing to follow.
The Western PA Speedweek point fund will be reduced from the originally posted point fund with final details being released as soon as they are available. The top 10 spots will still be paid out and the total remaining amount will still be substantial for what has effectively become a two-race miniseries. Thank you to all our amazing partners for making this possible.
Additional awards and prizes also still in effect for Sunday at Tri City Raceway Park:
– $200 Quick Time award (Knox Bakery)
– $200 Hard Charger award (Rustler Sales & Service)
– $100 Hard Luck award (Virgile Iron & Steel)
