IMPENDING RAINS FORCE CANCELLATION OF 6TH ANNUAL JEAN LYNCH CLASSIC, ENDING LERNERVILLE SPEEDWAY’S PERFECT RECORD OF WESTERN PA SPEEDWEEK EVENTS

May 30, 2025 (Shippenville, PA)…Impending rain with no signs of improvement in the forecast have forced Western PA Speedweek and Lernerville Speedway officials to cancel Night #3 of Schaeffer’s Specialized Lubricants Western PA Speedweek presented by J.S. Bova Excavating. The event will not be rescheduled.
The cancellation marks the first-ever Western PA Speedweek rainout for Lernerville Speedway. The Sarver, PA oval previously sported a perfect 12-for-12 record in previous attempts, an astounding success rate that spanned 1993-2000 and continued from 2021-2024.

Drivers and crews now set their sights on Sharon Speedway for Night #4 of Western PA Speedweek. The Saturday night affair is the highest paying event of the week offering $5,000 to-win and $400 to-start! Pit gates open at 4pm, grandstands open at 4:30pm. Hot laps are scheduled for 6:30pm with racing to follow.

After a Wednesday night rainout at Michaels Mercer Raceway, action finally got underway on Thursday night at Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway. A strong field of 27 cars braved the questionable weekend weather and headed to Dirt’s Monster Half Mile. Brandon Spithaler emerged victorious, picking up the $3,500 win for his first career win at the track as well as his first win aboard the Barris Supply 32B.
